CNI – Coastal Neurological Institute is growing and getting stronger. We are incredibly excited to be adding four outstanding neurologists to our neurology group located in Mobile, Alabama and the surrounding area.

Dr. Christopher Eckstein received his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine, his residency in Neurology and served one year as Chief Resident of Neurology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In addition, he received a two -year fellowship in Neuroimmunology from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Dr. Eckstein has received numerous awards and honors including the Red Sash Award from the University of South Alabama School of Medicine.

Dr. Timothy P. Hecker is a Mobile native who received his undergraduate degree at Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. and his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He did both his internship and residency in Neurology and is Board Certified in Neurology as well.

Dr. Charles S. Markle, a Spring Hill undergraduate, received his medical degree from the University of Georgia School of Medicine. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine and a residency in Neurology at the University of South Alabama, in Mobile. He is board certified in neurology.

Dr. Ozgur Oztas received his medical degree from Ankara University of Medicine in Ankara, Turkey. He trained at the University of South Alabama, which included his internship and residency, as well as a year as Chief Resident of Neurology. He has been practicing in the Mobile area since 2003 and is Board Certified in Neurology.

These four physicians, along with Dr. Middleton, Dr. Faircloth, Dr. Tyler, and Dr. Flotte round out one of the best neurological staffs in the region. At CNI, we continually strive to create and deliver the most comprehensive and best possible neurological care on the Gulf Coast.
